Tara Center is a nonprofit, nondenominational spiritual organization incorporated in Los Angeles, California, USA in 1980.

Share International Foundation is a nonprofit, educational organization, affiliated with the United Nations Department of Public Information, incorporated in both Amsterdam, Holland, and Los Angeles, California, USA in 1982.

Both organizations are supported by a worldwide network of individuals who, to varying degrees, subscribe to the views espoused here. In addition, groups affiliated in purpose have formed in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, New Zealand, The Philippines, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. Work is done by volunteers, except for a small administrative staff.

Tara Center and Share International were formed for the purpose of informing the public about Maitreya, the World Teacher, His teachings, and the events surrounding His gradual emergence into public view.

This information comes chiefly from British artist and lecturer Benjamin Creme, who has been in telepathic contact with one of Maitreya's disciples - a Master of Wisdom - since 1959, and through two London-based journalists who, since 1988, have been regularly given information by one of Maitreya's associates in the Asian community of London.
